Dicronocephalus wallichii – Bottle

£332.00

INFO

Designer / Brand

Camilla Brunelli & Simone Crestani

DESCRIPTION

The shape of insects exoskeleton was translated into bottles and vases. The design thus generated was used as a reference to reproduce the pieces in glass. The way sometimes archaeologists and historians do in order to better understand lost cultures.
On the other hand a materic analogy occurs, in fact when insects molt their exoskeleton is soft at first so they can stretch it from within at maximum size. It then sclerotizes, becomes rigid, just like in glass blowing.
