Fornace Mian

Nestled in the enchanting surroundings of Murano, Fornace Mian stands as a storied furnace specializing in the craftsmanship of exquisite glass decorative pieces. Our commitment to the art of glassmaking involves a meticulous blend of mouth-blowing and handcrafting techniques, orchestrated by adept teams led by a master alongside three or four skilled artisans proficient in various glass-working phases. At the heart of this artistry lies the master, a key figure in shaping and blowing each glass piece. Through a combination of artistic sensitivity and skill, the master achieves the desired form and size, infusing each creation with a unique touch. The path to becoming a master glassmaker is a journey that requires aptitude, hard work, pride, and keen observation, drawing inspiration from the expertise of other glass masters. Established in 1962 by Alfio Mian, Fornace Mian has emerged as a prominent Murano glass factory. In 1972, the legacy was gracefully passed to Alfio's son, Giuliano, who transformed it into one of Murano's preeminent establishments, boasting an impressive array of 26 furnaces. Today, Giuliano, alongside his two children, Simone and Patrizia, collaborates with distinguished artists and designers, perpetuating the tradition of crafting exceptional glass art. Presently, Fornace Mian operates with a dedicated team of 80 individuals, unwavering in their commitment to the passion for creating finely crafted glass objects. Alfio Mian's vision, set in motion in 1962, has flourished into a thriving legacy, with Giuliano at the helm, supported by the artistic contributions of his family and collaborations with renowned creators worldwide.
